Bonfire Night is held across the UK on 5th November and is traditionally celebrated by setting off fireworks and burning a ‘Guy’ (man made of straw or paper and old clothes) on a bonfire – and we Scots go nuts for it! Here are some of the events you can catch this Bonfire Night.
GLASGOW GREEN FIREWORKS
Remember remember… that Glasgow Fireworks returns to Glasgow Green on Saturday 5 November 2016.
As usual, the event is free and open to all. Spectators will be welcome on to the Green, where they can buy a range of food and drink, and browse merchandise stalls. They can also enjoy a funfair!
Join Talking Heads Puppets for Crash… Bang… Wallop at the Scottish Mask and Puppet Centre!
It’s that time of the year when fireworks are being set off again! Our pets and other creatures are becoming a little nervous…who can they turn to? An unlikely source at Talking Heads Puppets is on hand to help!
Not forgetting Ben in a basket, who introduces the show. The event will take place on 5 November at 2pm at the Scottish Mask and Puppet Centre, Glasgow West End.
This year Scottish Love In Action are running three shows. Presenting a new Fireworks Extravaganza Event in the North of the city on Friday 4 November at George Heriot’s Playing Fields at Inverleith Row, Goldenacre, Edinburgh.
SLA will continue to run its Fireworks Extravaganzas Events on Sunday 6 of November at George Watson’s College Rugby Ground. Due to demand, there will be two shows, so there’s really no excuse to miss it!
GHA FIREWORKS DISPLAY 2016
The annual fireworks display, the largest and best in the Southside, will be taking place on November 5th at Glasgow Hutchesons’ Aloysians Rugby Football Club.
Gates open at 6pm, the Fireworks display is due to start at 7.15pm but it is advised you arrive before 7pm to avoid disappointment. All tickets can be purchased on the gate.
Enjoy the spectacular fireworks display on Saturday 5 November at Meadowbank! Edinburgh’s biggest fireworks display has been running for over 30 years, and is a great event for the whole family.
This year’s theme is Sci-Fi, so why not dress up as your favourite Sci-Fi character on the evening, there may even be prizes for best dressed. Start thinking; Back to the Future, Star Wars, Xmen, Iron Man and Star Trek to pick some of the classic characters.
